Al-Qaeda (an organization banned in Russia) will again be able to pose a threat to the United States of America (USA) in a year. This is reported by TASS with reference to Bloomberg.
The Bloomberg article provides an assessment of the future of al-Qaeda in Afghanistan based on the findings of experts from the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Thus, there is a quote from the head of the department, General Scott Berrier, who noted that while the Taliban (the organization is banned in Russia) remain in power, Al-Qaeda will need about one year to recuperate and become capable of threatening American territory again. His deputy, General David Cohen, also made a negative forecast, noting that CIA officers were already working in Afghanistan to monitor the activities of a terrorist organization.
Let us recall that in 2001 the reason for the introduction of a contingent of NATO troops into Afghanistan was precisely the Taliban harboring the leaders of al-Qaeda, in particular, its leader Osama bin Laden.
