Chinese Ambassador to the United States advised colleagues to "shut up" World News

The new ambassador of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) spoke out sharply in a dialogue with American diplomats, urging them to “shut up.” Izvestia reports this with reference to The National Review.

Qin Gang took over as Chinese Ambassador to the United States on July 28, 2021. Prior to that, he served as China’s Deputy Foreign Minister. He became the 11th person in history to hold this position. Overall, his rhetoric has generated a positive response from the West. So, he proposed combining the efforts of the two countries in the fight against coronavirus, right up to the creation of a single epidemiological headquarters.

The politician made a sharp statement during an online meeting of the National Committee on US-China Relations. On it, the politician was asked whether it is worth waiting for a thaw in relations between the two states in the near future. In response, the Chinese diplomat said that the responsibility for the “cold snap” lies solely with the United States and he advised addressing such a question to his government. If this proved to be impossible, Qin Gang recommended that his colleagues “shut up.”
